THE ASSESSMENT
Before you treat the scar, understand what you’re looking at.
A 60-minute virtual assessment for women navigating post-surgical scars, stretch marks, pigment changes, and skin concerns after aesthetic transformation.
We look at where you are now, what actually needs attention, what can wait, and what should come next.

60 MINUTES · $500 · WRITTEN PLAN WITHIN 48 HOURS
Available virtually for US clients.
THE PROBLEM
You’ve already made the big investment.
Don’t guess at the recovery.
Your surgery may be over.
Your scar is still changing.
Color can change. Texture can change. Thickness can change. And the right decision at eight weeks may be very different from the right decision eight months later.
This is where things get confusing.
One person recommends laser.
Another recommends microneedling.
Someone else recommends camouflage.
There is a product for everything.
The question isn’t whether any of those things can work.
The question is whether it’s right for your skin, your scar, and this point in your healing.
That is what we figure out first.
WHAT IT DOES
The Assessment doesn’t tell you what treatments exist.
It tells you what belongs next.
During your session, we look at the whole picture.
01
The timeline
When the procedure happened. How the area has changed. Where you appear to be in the recovery process.
03
Your skin
Including pigment behavior and considerations that may change the risk calculation in skin of color.
05
What actually bothers you
Because the thing you notice may not be the same thing someone else has been trying to treat.
02
The scar or stretch mark
Color. Texture. Thickness. Elevation. Visible pigment change. What appears stable and what may still be evolving.
04
What has already been done
Products. Procedures. Devices. Previous recommendations. What helped. What didn’t.
06
What belongs next
Including whether the answer is treatment, referral, waiting, or leaving something alone.
SEQUENCING
The part most people skip: sequence.
A good treatment can still be the wrong treatment if it happens at the wrong time.
SO I DON’T BEGIN WITH
“What should you book?”
I BEGIN WITH
What are we trying to change?
THEN
Does it need changing now?
AND ONLY THEN
What belongs next?
Sometimes that means doing something.
Sometimes it means seeing someone else.
Sometimes it means waiting.
That’s still a plan.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE
A plan. Not another list of options.
Within 48 hours of your assessment, you’ll receive a written plan outlining:
what I would prioritize now
what I would leave alone
what may make sense later
treatment categories worth considering, when appropriate
things I would be cautious about
questions worth asking before booking another procedure
the type of specialist I would involve when someone else’s expertise is more appropriate
The goal is not to give you more to do.
It is to make the next decision easier.
WHO IT IS FOR
This may be right for you if…
You’re recovering from, or trying to understand changes after:
tummy tuck
mommy makeover
breast surgery
body contouring
Or you’re concerned about:
a scar that looks different than expected
pigment changes
raised or textured areas
stretch marks after pregnancy or major body change
a treatment you’ve already tried without the result you expected
post-weight-loss body transformation, including after GLP-1 use
another surgical procedure that left a visible scar
whether laser, microneedling, camouflage, or another intervention belongs in your plan
whether it’s simply too early to do anything
“Everyone is telling me something different. What should I actually do?”
INDEPENDENCE
Sometimes the right next step isn’t with me.
If what I see belongs with a plastic surgeon, dermatologist, wound-care provider, or another appropriate specialist, I’ll tell you.
If something shouldn’t be touched yet, I’ll tell you that too.
A specialist who tells you when not to book is the only kind worth booking.
ABOUT
Tam Patel, RDH, MBA
I spent more than 22 years in clinical healthcare before my work moved into restorative aesthetics.
Scar camouflage and cosmetic tattooing became the craft that changed the direction of my career and eventually led me to build the Skinstitute of San Diego.
Before closing the studio for our move to Spain, an increasing share of my work involved correction cases. I was spending less time thinking about the treatment itself and more time asking what had been missed before the client ever got there.
My family’s move to Spain gave me the opportunity to step out of hands-on practice completely.
Today, I work virtually — helping women make better decisions about scars, stretch marks, and post-procedure skin before they spend more money or lose more time.

SCOPE
What this is not.
The Assessment does not replace medical care.
I do not diagnose medical conditions or manage surgical complications virtually.
New wound separation, suspected infection, significant drainage, rapidly worsening pain, fever, or other urgent post-operative concerns belong with your surgeon or another appropriate medical provider.
If I believe something needs medical evaluation before aesthetic intervention, that becomes the first recommendation.
QUESTIONS
Before you book.
Can you really assess a scar virtually?
For many questions involving scar appearance, timing, history, prior treatment, and next-step planning, yes.
You’ll submit clear photographs and relevant history before we meet. During the session, we’ll review the area together and talk through what has changed.
If something cannot be appropriately assessed virtually, I’ll tell you.
Do you perform the treatments you recommend?
No. My current work is entirely virtual.
I have hands-on experience with scar camouflage and micropigmentation, but I no longer perform in-person procedures.
When treatment belongs in your plan, I’ll help you understand what type of provider or expertise to look for.
How soon after surgery should I book?
There isn’t one correct time for every scar.
Some concerns are worth discussing early because the question is what to protect, watch, or avoid. Other interventions only become relevant later.
If you’re unsure whether it’s too soon, that uncertainty itself is often worth sorting out before you spend money elsewhere.
Can you assess stretch marks?
Yes. Stretch marks are part of my restorative-aesthetics work, particularly after pregnancy, significant weight change, and body transformation.
We look at their age, appearance, your skin, what has already been attempted, and what improvement may realistically be worth pursuing.
What happens after the assessment?
You receive your written plan within 48 hours. For many clients, that’s enough.
If your situation would benefit from more ongoing support, additional private client support can be discussed after the assessment.
